HOOKSETT, N.H., March 23, 2023—Merchants Fleet, the nation’s fastest growing fleet management company, today announced that its Vice President of Fleet Electrification and Sustainability, Hari Nayar, will take the stage at Ceres Global, an event where the most influential capital market leaders come together to set the course of action for a more just and sustainable economy. Nayar will participate in a panel, on March 23 and discuss the status of commercial fleet electrification in the U.S.

Today, one in five vehicles on U.S. roadways belong to a fleet. And, by 2030, the World Economic Forum projects the number of delivery vehicles will increase by 36% in the top 100 global cities. A concerted push toward electrifying these vehicles is paramount to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and decarbonizing the transportation sector.

Large companies are quickly taking advantage of the economic and environmental benefits of adopting electric vehicles (EVs), while developing creative solutions to address some of the remaining challenges. During this session, panelists will:

  • Identify what needs to happen to electrify commercial fleets by 2040
  • Discuss how companies can play a key role in accelerating the transition
  • Identify and evaluate key clean transportation policies that expand model availability, reduce costs and improve charging access

Session Title: Electric Vehicles and a Net Zero Transportation Sector
Date: Thursday, March 23, 2023

“Ceres brings the brightest minds and global leaders such as former Vice President Al Gore and NAACP president and CEO, Derrick Johnson, together to tackle our planet’s toughest challenges,” said Nayar. “We all recognize the transformation that businesses and communities have to go through to build and nourish a sustainable economy. I’m looking forward to joining my peers to discuss how Merchants Fleet is part of this critical transformation, paving the way for moving goods and services responsibly.”

A tenured engineer with more than a decade of experience developing battery and energy related electro-mechanical products for defense, medical, automotive and consumer electronics applications, Nayar leads Merchants Fleets’ electrification team, focused on providing clients with the tools, insights and product solutions they need to make a seamless and cost-effective transition to EVs—charging infrastructure included.
