Tom Coffey

Tom Coffey serves as Senior Vice President, Sales & Consulting at Merchants Fleet. He joined the company in 2011. Tom provides strategic oversight to Merchants Fleet’s development of industry-leading offerings to the broad fleet client base. He leads over 45 industry-leading, professionals who provide value to clients of any size, in virtually any industry, with a strong focus on client relationships and exceptional service. He has been instrumental in the growth of Merchants, making the organization the nation’s fastest-growing fleet company. Tom has been recognized by the Globee Awards for Sales and Customer Service Excellence and the Titan Business Awards for Achievement in Sales.

Tom has over 35 years in the fleet and equipment leasing industry. Prior to Merchants Fleet, Tom served as the Senior Vice President of Sales for Donlen, where he was responsible for sales and new business development for nine years. Additionally, he was the Senior Vice President of Financial Solutions for GE, leading business development and client service, as well as the North American efforts in Truck Fleet Services. He has extensive national sales experience, having held regional fleet sales management positions in Atlanta, St. Louis, and Pittsburgh.

Over the course of his career, Tom has worked with hundreds of clients, managed portfolios exceeding a billion dollars in assets, worked across numerous fleet types including sales, management, livery, utility construction, and government, and managed over 50 employees. He is a strategic leader in the Merchants Fleet family and a highly sought-after thought leader in the fleet management industry, having been quoted in Automotive Fleet, Fleet Management Weekly and Business Fleet.

Tom received his Bachelor’s Degree from Kalamazoo College. He has Six Sigma Quality and Credit training. Tom lives in the Greater Manchester, New Hampshire area with his wife Kerri and his family.
