Charlton Recognized for Work in Digital Transformation & Mentorship

Jeanine L. Charlton, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology and Digital Officer at Merchants Fleet, was recently named to the National Diversity Council’s Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology for 2020. Over the past year, Charlton led successful digital transformation efforts at Merchants, which has invested significantly in its technology infrastructure and platform as part of its rapid growth.

Charlton’s leadership in implementing Agile across the business led to faster enhancements and additions to Merchants Fleet’s proprietary software platform, TotalView, at a lower cost. She was also recognized for her successful track record in technology leadership at Fortune 100 companies and her efforts to mentor the next generation of leaders.

“Jeanine’s leadership has been invaluable to our organization’s growth,” said Brendan P. Keegan, CEO of Merchants Fleet. “Her strategic vision has empowered us to be even more responsive to our clients’ needs and scale rapidly to consistently deliver innovative technology. Beyond helping Merchants meet its strategic goals, she plays a critical role in our award-winning culture and helps us foster internal talent by actively mentoring people at Merchants, both formally and informally.”

The National Diversity Council’s Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Tech recognizes women who are prominent leaders that have reached the top of their profession. Honorees directly contribute to the strategic growth of their organizations, demonstrate a commitment to corporate citizenship, maintain a record of accomplishment in their areas of expertise, operate with the highest ethics and integrity, and actively mentor the next generation of female professionals in the industry.

Charlton joined Merchants Fleet in June 2018 after serving as a Merchants Fleet board member. She provides strategic leadership to all of Merchants Fleet’s technology initiatives, to include the innovative and proprietary fleet management software Merchants TotalView. She is focused on positioning Merchants for technological advancement and continued growth while creating a culture that celebrates innovation and collaboration. Jeanine has an extensive Fortune 100 technology leadership background in the automotive, transportation, supply chain & manufacturing industries. She has been on the forefront of IT and business integration by leading the consolidation of manufacturing and IT processes and strategies to create a superior customer experience at technology powerhouses DXC Technology, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Electronic Data Systems (EDS). Over the past 25 years, she has successfully enabled multiple enterprise and government transformations by leveraging technology, services, and people, resulting in improved financial, customer, and employee metrics.
