CEO Brendan P. Keegan Leads Discussion on ‘Transportation Electrification at Scale’

This week CEO of Merchants Fleet, Brendan P. Keegan moderated an Industry Technical Workshop titled “Transportation Electrification at Scale” for Northwestern University Transportation Center’s Business Advisory Council.

The virtual workshop convened a panel of leading transportation experts to discuss the scale-up of electric vehicles, and the infrastructure required for acceleration of widespread consumer and commercial adoption. Brendan led the discussion with panelists from GM’s BrightDrop, Tesla, Deimler Trucks, Cummins, Ford Motor Company, Shell, and the US Department of Transportation, all of whom have made major investments in electrification and clean energy operations.

As the Council’s sole representative of the nation’s fleet management industry, Merchants has also made major commitments to the future of electrification. The company currently manages over 150,000 vehicles nationally, and aims to have 50% of its mobility fleet portfolio electric by 2025, and 50% of its managed fleet portfolio fully electric by 2030. Merchants has also officially launched Electrify Fleet, an innovative ecosystem of OEM and infrastructure partners, in collaboration with Merchants Fleet sustainability experts, designed to provide resources and insights to help clients make a seamless and cost-effective entry into EV.
